Happy first day of summer!
There is something I have been really into lately. Tea.
More specifically, iced tea. And even MORE specifically, fresh brewed iced tea. None of that powdered nonsense.
And even better if it’s mixed up with a little lemonade. Arnold palmer anyone?
I never used to be a fan of tea, hot or cold. It was reserved only for the substitute for coffee when I was sick. But then, just as I coffee began to grow on me in college, tea was starting to find a more regular place in my life. It also doesn’t hurt that I discovered Vintage Teas on my last business trip, and their delicious Forestberry tea. It’s sweet enough on it’s own that I can drink it straight over ice with little to no sugar and it is SO refreshing. It’s also a good change up from my 45 thousand glasses of water a day.
My mom used to make sun tea on our back porch in the summertime, and I would probably do the same if I had a porch, or any outside space for that matter. For now I’m going to have to settle for apartment version which is filling a large pitcher with hot water and putting in about fifteen (I honestly just took half a box… so I don’t know how much. I’m relaly helpful huh?) tea bags and then waiting a few hours before removing the tea bags and putting the pitcher in the fridge. Summer perfection.
What’s your favorite summertime beverage? Are you an iced tea fan? Sweetened or not?
